On October 7^th, 2024 Pine Prairie Police was dispatched to 1600 Block of Oak street for a male subject found unresponsive. Upon arrival, with the assistance from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, officers found the male subject deceased. Pine Prairie Police along with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and the Evangeline Parish Coroner’s Office had the body sent off for autopsy. Based on the physical evidence found on scene and the preliminary autopsy results showing no signs of external or internal injuries, it appears that the death is accidental. Toxicology results are still pending and the case remains open pending those results and the final report from the Coroner’s Office.
