Patrick Muldoon, known for his roles on shows including Days of Our Lives and films including Starship Troopers, has died at age 57, his representative confirmed to ABC News Monday.

Muldoon rose to fame in the early 1990s with his role on Days of Our Lives, on which he originated the role of Austin Reed. He later starred on the primetime soap opera Melrose Place and had a recurring role on Saved By the Bell.

Days of Our Lives paid tribute to its former star on Monday, writing in an Instagram post, "The Days of our Lives family is saddened by the news of Patrick’s untimely passing."

"As the original 'Austin Reed,' he left an indelible mark in Salem both personally and professionally. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, and he will be missed by all of us," the soap opera posted, alongside a series of photos of Muldoon.

Allison Sweeney, who co-starred with Muldoon on Days of Our Lives, shared memories of the actor in a post on X Monday, writing, "Pat was a rare kind of person—brilliantly talented, endlessly kind, and generous in spirit. I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days, he made me feel at ease right away. He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed."

Lisa Rinna, who also starred alongside Muldoon on Days, posted a photo of the pair together in an Instagram Story, alongside a broken heart emoji.

In addition to his TV roles, Muldoon acted on the big screen, including the 1997 movie Starship Troopers, playing the role of Zander Barcalow.

Over his decadeslong acting career, Muldoon accrued nearly 100 acting credits, as well as more than one dozen producing credits and several soundtrack credits, according to IMDb.

Just days before his death, Muldoon shared a post on Instagram promoting a new film he was working on, Kockroach, starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton and Zazie Beetz.

'Superman' sequel 'Man of Tomorrow' starts production, James Gunn teases Lex Luthor in jail

The Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow has started production.

Director James Gunn revealed that cameras have started rolling on the superhero sequel in a post on Instagram Monday.

"From the set of #ManofTomorrow. Shooting now," Gunn captioned his post.

The photo Gunn shared features a chess board, a bag of opened Ruffles potato chips and a VanKull Department of Corrections badge for an inmate named A. Luthor. One can only assume the badge is for the villainous Lex Luthor, who was portrayed by Nicholas Hoult in Gunn's 2025 Superman blockbuster film.

In a conversation with Howard Stern in September 2025, Gunn, who also serves as the co-head of DC Studios, said the new film will feature Superman teaming up with his enemy, Lex Luthor.

“It’s a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat,” Gunn said. “It’s more complicated than that, but that’s a big part of it. It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie."

The director continued, saying, "I relate to the character of Lex, sadly. I really wanted to create something extraordinary with the two of them. I just love the script so much."

Warner Bros. Pictures will release Man of Tomorrow in theaters on July 9, 2027.

We come to this teaser trailer for magic.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official teaser trailer for Practical Magic 2. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman once again star as the magical Owens sisters in this highly anticipated sequel to the 1998 film Practical Magic.

Along with Bullock and Kidman, who are both producing the project, the film stars Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest.

Practical Magic 2 follows the Owens sisters as they "must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all in a must-see cinematic event of fun, magic and mayhem," according to an official description from Warner Bros.

The trailer finds all of the Owens women living in the same picturesque white home by the water from the first film, going about their daily tasks and using a bit of magic along the way.

"I'm sure you've heard of the Owens family. The ones from Massachusetts. The ones their neighbors whisper are witches," Bullock says through voice-over in the trailer.

"I've waited such a long time for this," Kidman says, before she jumps off the home's roof while holding an open umbrella.

"Yes, she has," Bullock says, as she opens up an umbrella herself.

Susanne Bier directed the film from a script by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. It's based on the novel The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman.

Practical Magic 2 arrives in theaters on Sept. 11.

Anne Hathaway named 'People' magazine's 'World’s Most Beautiful' cover star

Anne Hathaway covers People's 'World's Most Beautiful' issue. (Jonny Marlow/People Magazine)

People magazine's “World’s Most Beautiful” issue is out this week, and Good Morning America is exclusively revealing this year's cover star: Anne Hathaway.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 star is a force to be reckoned with, promoting five films this year. Hathaway, 43, said she's not slowing down and is embracing having fun in her career, instead of stressing over it.

Hathaway said she also credits her husband, producer and actor Adam Shulman, for helping to guide her through this extraordinary year she's having, calling him "a dream partner."

Twenty years since the first The Devil Wears Prada movie was released, the cast — which also includes Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep — is reuniting for a sequel, something Hathaway said she has dreamed about revisiting.

Hathaway also opened up to People about getting to perform alongside the legendary Streep again, who plays Miranda Priestly in the series.

"Just to get to see an artist like her, I don't talk about how much I revere her to her, but I do," said Hathaway. "Someone whom I admire, someone who does it better than anybody, somebody who defines how it's done, somebody who is just living greatness. And never rests on that laurel but is always pushing herself to expand as an artist."

The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in theaters May 1, and People magazine's "World's Most Beautiful" issue will be out April 24.

20th Century Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News and Good Morning America.

Jennifer Stone to return as Harper Finkle in 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place'

Harper Finkle and Alex Russo are reuniting.

Jennifer Stone is set to reprise her Wizards of Waverly Place role of Harper Finkle in the final season of its spinoff series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Harper is the eccentric human best friend of Selena Gomez's beloved wizard Alex Russo.

Disney announced earlier in April that Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will return for its final chapter this summer. Production on the new episodes started this month.

Gomez is set to make her directorial debut as she helms the premiere episode of this final chapter in the Russo family's story. In addition to directing, Gomez will reprise her role of Alex over multiple episodes and continue executive producing.

Stone made a return to acting after she took a hiatus to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She graduated in 2019 with plans to resume acting full-time, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and she stepped into the emergency room and served on the front lines. Now, Stone balances ER shifts with her love of acting, according to a press release.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place stars David Henrie as Justin Russo and Janice LeAnn Brown as the young wizard Billie. Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, Taylor Cora and Mimi Gianopulos also make up the main cast.

This final chapter of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is being billed as a special four-part event.

"Billie, still reeling from losing Alex at the end of season 2, discovers that the only way to rescue her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father," according to an official description from Disney. "As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realizes that their combined power is the only way the Russos can defeat the evil plaguing them."

Natalie Portman pregnant, expecting baby #3 at age 44

Natalie Portman is expecting a third child.

The Oscar-winning actress, 44, revealed the news in an exclusive interview with Harper's Bazaar published on Friday. It's her first baby with her partner, French music producer Tanguy Destable.

"Tanguy and I are very excited," she said. "I'm just very grateful. I know it's such a privilege and a miracle."

Portman, who didn't share specific details about her pregnancy, acknowledged the challenges people may face with pregnancy and trying to conceive.

"I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant," she said. "I have so many people I love who've had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It's such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it's also not an easy thing."

She continued, "And so I know how lucky it is. I'm very aware, and I'm very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude."

Giving birth later in life is a growing reality in the United States.

According to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from 1990 to 2023, birth rates have declined among women in their 20s and increased among women in older age groups.

Compared to birth rates in 1990, the birth rate increased 71% among women ages 35–39 (from 31.7 to 54.3), 127% (from 5.5 to 12.5) among women ages 40–44 and 450% (from 0.2 to 1.1) among women 45 and older in 2023.

Meanwhile, birth rates remain highest among women in their 20s but have declined 51% among women 20-24 years old (from 116.5 to 57.7) and 24% among women 25 to 29 years old (from 120.2 to 91.0) over that timeframe, CDC data shows.

At age 44, Portman is nearly a decade past the age — 35 — that doctors consider women to be of "advanced maternal age."

While many women over 35 years old have healthy babies and pregnancies, there are risks for the mother and baby that increase with maternal age, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Portman shared that she has "more energy" than she expected, and said that she is swimming and doing gyrotonics to stay active.

Portman is also the mom to son Aleph Millepied, 14, and daughter Amalia Millepied, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband, Benjamin Millepied.

Jill Biden bid $35,000 for a chance to guest star on 'Heated Rivalry,' but lost out

If Dr. Jill Biden guest-starring on season two of Heated Rivalry was somehow on your bucket list, we have unfortunate news for you.

In a surprise appearance at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center's annual Center Dinner on Thursday night, the former first lady "raised her paddle at $35,000 but was quickly outbid," according to a press release from the organization.

The Center added in a press release that the "intense bidding war" led Heated Rivalry producers Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady to add "two walk-on roles for the top bidder at $125,000, each, resulting in a $250,000 donation to The Center."

Biden cheekily posted about her losing bid on social media, saying: "Guess I won't be heading to the cottage after all—but it was worth a shot! What a wonderful evening supporting @LGBTCenterNYC."

At the beginning of the event, the former first lady was welcomed with a standing ovation by the audience for the work her and her husband, former President Joe Biden, have done for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, also known as The Center, was established in 1983 at the height of the AIDS crisis to "provide a safe and affirming place for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers to respond to the urgent threats facing the community."

Thursday’s event went on to raise over $2 million to support their work, the organization said.

The annual dinner celebrated LGBTQ+ community icons and allies who have had an impact on the community. Brady and Tierney were honored, as well as Brooks Brothers Brand CEO Ken Ohashi and Gilead Sciences.

The event was attended by RuPaul's Drag Race season 18 finalists Darlene Mitchell, Myki Meeks and Nini Coco, and singer Melanie C delivered a performance that had "everyone on their feet," according to the press release.

Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers, then arrived on stage and bantered with Downey, before a Doomsday countdown clock appeared on the screen, counting down the days to the movie's December release.

Additionally, Kathryn Newton took to Instagram on Friday to confirm she will appear in the movie as Ant-Man's daughter, Cassie Lang. She posted a video unboxing a miniature director's chair with her name and the film's title on it.

“It's tiny because Cassie Lang gets tiny,” Newton says in the video.

Nancy Guthrie abduction: FBI analyzing DNA recovered from her home, sources say

In this May 4, 2015, file photo, Australian-born presenter, Savannah Guthrie poses alongside her mother Nancy Guthrie during a production break while hosting NBC's 'Today Show' live from Australia at Sydney Opera House in Sydney. (Don Arnold/WireImage via Getty Images, FILE)

The FBI recently received and is now analyzing potentially critical DNA recovered from the Tucson, Arizona, home of Nancy Guthrie, sources familiar with the investigation told ABC News.

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie, was abducted from her home early on Feb. 1.

A private Florida lab that works with the Pima County Sheriff's Department sent the sample to the FBI in recent weeks, the sources said. The FBI is now using new technology to conduct advanced analysis on the DNA sample to see if it can lead to Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper, according to the sources.

The sample itself is not new, but has been part of the investigation since it was collected in February, one of the sources said.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has previously described the DNA recovered from Nancy Guthrie's home as a sample that came from more than one person and therefore needed to be untangled.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently told a Neighborhood Watch group that it could take six more months to separate the strands and isolate what investigators need.

The sheriff also said as many as five other labs around the country are working on the Guthrie case. It was not immediately clear which ones, what their roles are or whether there are additional DNA samples that are potentially relevant.

About two dozen Pima County and FBI investigators are still actively working the Guthrie case. After investigators released key evidence, like images from Nancy Guthrie's doorbell camera, early on, seemingly little progress has been made on her whereabouts or the person or people who abducted her.

Last month, Savannah Guthrie spoke out in her first interview, telling her friend and former co-host Hoda Kotb that it's "too much to bear to think that I brought this to her bedside, that it's because of me."

I’m so sorry, Mommy, I'm so sorry," Savannah Guthrie said.

And to her family, she apologized through tears, "If it is me, I'm so sorry."

But she added, "We still don't know ... Honestly, we don't know anything."

Savannah Guthrie said her family "cannot be at peace" without answers.

"Someone can do the right thing," she said.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911, the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or the Pima County Sheriff's Department at 520-351-4900.

Editor's Note: The story has updated the time frame of when the DNA sample was received

Great balls of fire! Top Gun 3 is on the way.

During Paramount's CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on Thursday, it was revealed that a third film in the blockbuster franchise is coming, with Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer both returning.

CinemaCon shared the news in a post on X.

ABC News has reached out to Paramount Pictures and CinemaCon for comment.

Top Gun 3 will serve as a follow-up to the Joseph Kosinski-directed Top Gun: Maverick, which premiered in 2022.

Cruise, who starred in the 2022 film, reprised his role as Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell from the 1986 film Top Gun. In that film, Maverick is sent to the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School, where he trains to refine his flying skills.

It starred Val Kilmer as Lt. Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, Anthony Edwards as Lt. j.g. Nick "Goose" Bradshaw, Tom Skerritt as Cmdr. Mike "Viper" Metcalf, Meg Ryan as Goose's wife, Carole, and Kelly McGillis as Charlie Blackwood.

Top Gun: Maverick centered around Maverick confronting his past while training a group of younger Top Gun graduates, including the son of his late best friend, for a dangerous mission.

The 2022 film starred Cruise, Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly as bar owner Penny Benjamin, Miles Teller as Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Goose's son), Glen Powell as Lt. Jake "Hangman" Seresin, Jon Hamm as Vice Adm. Beau "Cyclone" Simpson, Bashir Salahuddin as Chief Warrant Officer Bernie "Hondo" Coleman, Monica Barbaro as Lt. Natasha "Phoenix" Trace, Jay Ellis as Lt. Reuben "Payback" Fitch and more.

While Cruise was not onstage to help reveal the news about Top Gun 3, he made an appearance on April 14 at the Warner Bros. presentation to share a sneak peek of his upcoming film Digger, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Victoria Beckham is speaking out about her family in the wake of her son Brooklyn Beckham's comments criticizing his parents earlier this year.

The Spice Girl and fashion designer briefly discussed the family dynamics with The Wall Street Journal in a wide-ranging profile, published Thursday.

The publication noted Victoria Beckham spoke on the topic without mentioning Brooklyn Beckham's name specifically.

"I think that we've always — we love our children so much," she said when asked about her eldest son, according to the Journal. "We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now."

She continued, "All we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it."

ABC News has reached out to a representative for Brooklyn Beckham for comment.

Brooklyn Beckham came forward with a lengthy statement on social media in January detailing the family fallout, which he claimed centered around his wife, Nicola Peltz, whom he married in 2022.

"I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private," he wrote at the time. "Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."

The 27-year-old claimed in his statement that throughout his life, his parents had "controlled narratives in the press" and "placed" stories, "at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade."

He also accused his parents of mistreating him and attempting to sabotage his relationship with Peltz, starting before the couple's marriage.

ABC News reached out to representatives for Brooklyn, Victoria and David Beckham at the time, as well as Peltz, but did not hear back.

David Beckham addressed the accusations on CNBC a few days later, saying, "Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn. So, that's what I try to teach my kids. But, you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes, as well."

He added, "I've always spoken about, you know, social media and the power of social media. What I have found personally, you know, especially with my kids, as well, use it for the right reasons."

Get ready for a brand-new world of pure imagination.

Kit Connor and Taika Waititi are set to lend their voices to the upcoming animated film Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory.

Connor will star as Charlie Paley, while Waititi will lend his voice to Willy Wonka. The film is set for a 2027 Netflix release.

It follows Willy Wonka, who has spent years after the golden ticket contest behind bars for the crime of turning a child into a blueberry. After he's served his time, Wonka returns to his chocolate factory only to find a new foe in teenager Charlie Paley. Charlie and his friends hatch a plot to break into the factory, take a priceless Wonka bar and save their homes from eviction.

“I’m so excited to enter the wonderful world of Wonka. I was immediately caught by the early concept art and the directors’ vision for the film — capturing the spirit and heart that made the original story so special, whilst imbuing it with something so fresh and unique," Connor said in a press release. "It’s such a fun representation of the London that I know. This new adventure is going to surprise audiences around the world. You’re in for a treat!”

Jared Stern and Elaine Bogan will direct the film that is from the animators at Sony Pictures Imageworks aka the studio behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and KPop Demon Hunters.

"Our directors, Jared and Elaine, have a bold vision befitting this new adventure whilst remaining sympathetic to the legacy, and I'm thrilled to play my part in bringing Willy Wonka to life in animated form,” Waititi said. “He is so special to me, and the opportunity to voice such an iconic, eccentric candy genius — if a little mischievous at times — is hugely exciting.”
